DGeo, a division of Labelmaster, has partnered with Lifoam Industries, LLC, a subsidiary of Altor Solutions, Inc., to introduce BioEPS® packaging, a sustainable alternative to traditional expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam.
This innovative packaging solution is designed for temperature-controlled and impact applications, offering an eco-friendly option without compromising on performance or convenience.
Unlike conventional EPS, which is non-biodegradable and takes centuries to decompose, BioEPS incorporates a bio-based additive that allows it to degrade by an average of 92% over four years in a bioreactive landfill, leaving no microplastics behind.
BioEPS packaging is versatile, suitable for temperature control, impact protection, and void fill, and can be recycled where EPS is accepted, simplifying sustainability efforts for organizations.
This development aligns with the growing demand for environmentally responsible packaging solutions, as highlighted by John Glaser, DGeo's director of packaging development. The product is readily available for shipping, with trials and testing offered to demonstrate its environmental benefits.
