Corbion’s PURASOLV® EL is a biobased solvent derived from ethyl lactate for personal care and cosmetic formulations.
Ethyl lactate is an ester of natural L-Lactic acid, which is produced by fermentation from sugar. It is a clear and colorless liquid of low volatility, having a characteristic odor. Ethyl lactate is completely miscible with water and most organic solvents.
PURASOLV® EL is 100% natural and non-toxic solvent, with ECOCERT/COSMOS certification for organic and natural cosmetics, and approval for use in vegan formulations.
This biosolvent is an environmentally-friendly and safe alternative compared to conventional cosmetic solvents, such as acetone or ethyl acetate, for applications such as nail polish removers.
